An empty home can be cleaned in ways a lived-in one cannot. A move-out clean uses that: the inside of the fridge, oven, microwave, cabinets, drawers and closets are all part of the visit, whether you are handing back keys or receiving them.
What a move-out clean includes
Move-out cleaning in San Diego homes covers everything in a deep clean, and then goes inside everything that was closed while the home was lived in.
In the kitchen, that means the inside of the fridge, the inside of the oven, the inside of the microwave, and the inside of every cabinet and drawer, on top of counters, sink, stove top, cabinet fronts, baseboards, switches, fixtures and sills. In the bathrooms, the inside of cabinets and drawers is cleaned and the grout and tile get full detail work, as well as the toilet, shower or tub, sink, mirror and floor.
In every room, closet interiors are wiped, baseboards get full detail, and window tracks, light fixtures, switch plates, door frames and door handles are cleaned. Floors are vacuumed and mopped throughout.
Targeted high-heat steam on sinks, showers, tubs and toilets is included, as it is on every visit. Our targeted steam treatment uses only water and heat. We use surface-appropriate cleaning products for other tasks when needed. The cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment.

How a move-out clean is confirmed
- Read the requestWe read the home details, the move date and whether it is a move-out or a move-in.
- Confirm the home will be emptyThe scope depends on it, so this is settled first, along with size, timing and access.
- Confirm the price in writingThe price for the home is confirmed with you before anyone arrives.
- Save a card on fileThe booking is confirmed once a card is on file at least 48 hours ahead; it is charged after the clean.
The empty-home rule
A move-out clean is only for an empty home. The reason is practical and it is also about care for your things: the cleaners do not work inside cabinets, drawers or closets that still hold belongings. If furniture or boxes are still in place on the day, the scope has to be confirmed again with you before the cleaners start.
The same scope applies to a move-in clean, done after the previous occupant has left and before your belongings arrive. Tell us which it is in the request, and whether anyone else, such as movers or a landlord, will be at the home on the day.
What is still an add-on
Even on a move-out clean, some work is outside the scope. A full-room steam upgrade, which extends steam from the fixtures to a room's hard floors, grout and baseboards, is an add-on. So are blinds, window glass beyond the tracks, a garage sweep, a single load of laundry and carpet cleaning. Any of these is agreed with you before the visit and never done without asking.
Wide-plank wood and high-gloss lacquer are never steamed. Very large homes are scoped separately after a walkthrough rather than at a flat rate, so mention the size of the home when you send the request.
Planning around a move
Moves run to tight dates, so the earlier the request, the more room there is to find a time that works. A requested date is a request, not a booking, until we have confirmed it with you.
The confirmation settles the size of the home, whether it will be fully empty, the date and time, and how the cleaners will get in. The price is confirmed with you in writing before anyone arrives. The booking is confirmed once a card is saved on file at least 48 hours before the visit; saving it places no charge and no hold, and it is charged after the clean is complete. Please keep door codes, alarm codes and lockbox details out of the request form.
If anything was missed, tell us within 24 hours of the visit. Every clean comes with a 24-hour re-clean guarantee, and the missed area is cleaned again at no additional charge. When you have a date in mind, request a clean and include it in the notes.
