What a first visit looks like after a long gap
If you are asking whether your house is too dirty for a cleaning service, the useful question is a different one: what kind of first visit does the home need? A home that has gone a while without professional cleaning usually needs more than a routine visit, because grime settles into edges and fixtures that a quick wipe misses. That is what a deep clean is for.
We plan every first visit with you before anything is booked, so the scope, the size of the home and the time needed are settled in advance rather than discovered on the day.
Why the first visit is normally a deep clean
If a home has not had a professional clean in the last 30 days, the first visit is normally planned as a deep clean. On top of the regular kitchen, bathroom, dusting and floor work, it covers baseboards, full detail on cabinet fronts, light switches and fixtures, reachable ceiling fans, window sills, door frames and the grout beside bathroom fixtures. It brings the home to a baseline that regular visits can then hold.
What to put in the request
The more we know, the better the first visit is planned. In the notes, tell us which rooms need the most attention, roughly how large the home is, and anything we should know about its condition. Mention pets, and anything fragile or off limits. If you are not sure which visit fits, choose not sure on the form and we will compare the options for your home in plain words.
Clutter and cleaning are different jobs
You do not need to clean before the cleaners arrive. Picking up clutter such as clothing, dishes, toys and papers lets the time go to the detail work rather than tidying. Anything outside the deep clean scope, such as the inside of the oven or fridge, is agreed with you as an add-on before the visit or left out.
Safety and tasks the cleaners may decline
Please tell us about any condition in the home that could affect safety. The cleaners may decline a task they cannot do safely, and knowing in advance means the plan for the visit reflects the home as it is.
Very large homes
Very large homes are scoped separately after a walkthrough rather than at a flat rate, so mention the size of the home in the request. Whatever the size, the price is confirmed with you in writing before any visit.

Many homes start with a deep clean and move to a weekly, every-other-week or monthly schedule once the baseline is set. The deep clean does the slow work once; regular visits then keep the home there without repeating it every time.
